Passport validity rules for Jamaica

Jamaica: valid-for-stay is the rule, but don't cut it to the final week
Jamaica does not normally require an extra six months on a UK, US or EU passport for a standard holiday. The passport should be valid for the length of your stay, and immigration officers will look for a return or onward ticket that matches the dates you give at arrival.
The risk is not usually Jamaican immigration; it is the airline's document check. If your passport expires very shortly after your return flight, check-in staff may ask for confirmation that Jamaica accepts valid-for-stay passports. Having the official rule ready on your phone can help, but if you have time to renew before a major holiday, that is still the safer option.
Travellers visiting family for flexible or open-ended stays should use the latest possible return date when checking validity. A passport that covers a two-week trip may not be enough if you later extend the visit by several months.
