1. Who we are

Passport6MonthRule.com ("the site") is an independent editorial website published from the United Kingdom by David Mansion. It provides free guidance on passport validity rules, the so-called "6-month rule", the EU 10-year issue-date rule, renewal timelines and airline check-in practice. You can reach us any time via our contact page.

2. Accepting these terms

By browsing the site, using the passport checker, or asking a question through the Passport Assistant, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.

3. Guidance, not legal or immigration advice

Everything on this site is general information. We are not a government body, a border agency, an airline, a travel agent, or an immigration adviser, and nothing here creates a professional relationship between us and you.

Entry rules change frequently and are applied at the discretion of individual airlines and border officers. Two travellers with identical passports can be treated differently on the same route. Always confirm your own situation with the destination country's official government source and with your airline before you book or travel. For US passport holders that means travel.state.gov; for UK holders, gov.uk foreign travel advice.

4. Limitation of liability

We work hard to keep our country data accurate and we correct errors quickly when they are reported (see our editorial policy). Even so, the site is provided "as is" and we cannot accept liability for missed flights, denied boarding, refused entry, non-refundable bookings, or any other loss arising from reliance on information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

5. The Passport Assistant

Our AI assistant produces answers automatically. It is grounded in our own editorial guides but, like all such tools, it can be incomplete or out of date. Treat its answers as a starting point for your own checks, never as confirmation that you will be allowed to board or enter a country. Do not enter passport numbers, payment details or other sensitive personal data into the assistant.

6. Advertising and affiliate disclosure

This site is free to read. To cover hosting and research costs we may earn money in two ways:

• Display advertising. We may show third-party adverts, including via Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content, our country ratings, or the order in which anything appears. Adverts are always visually distinct from editorial content.
• Affiliate links. Some outbound links to travel insurance, eSIM or renewal services may pay us a commission if you buy. This never costs you more, and we do not accept payment for a positive mention. Comparison sites we link to for general research (for example MoneySupermarket or Compare the Market) are linked free of charge.

We never take payment to change a country's verdict, and we will always tell you when a link is commercial.

7. Cookies and your data

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the site work, and — only with your consent — advertising and analytics cookies. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. Full detail is in our privacy policy.

8. Accounts

You can use almost every part of the site without an account. If you create one to store passport expiry reminders, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for the accuracy of the dates you enter. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time via the contact page.

9. Acceptable use

Please do not scrape the site at scale, republish our country tables or guides without credit and a link, attempt to interfere with the site's operation, or use the Passport Assistant to generate unlawful, abusive or misleading content. We may restrict access where these terms are broken.

10. Intellectual property

The written guides, country commentary, checker logic and design of this site are our copyright. You are welcome to quote a short extract for commentary or news reporting with a clear link back to the original page. Government source material we cite remains the property of its publisher.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
