Why this site exists

Passport validity rules are easy to misread because some countries count from arrival, others from planned departure, and nationality-based exceptions can apply. Passport 6 Month Rule was built to make that first date check easier and to put the official source beside the answer.

Who runs it

The site is independently owned and run by David Mansion, founder of Mansion Web Company. David reviews the country pages and guides and maintains the checker. There is no sponsored content presented as advice.

The aim is simple: make scattered official passport guidance easier to understand before someone pays for a flight, while showing where each rule came from and what the checker does not cover.

How we research the rules

Country pages link to a destination government, immigration authority or other primary official source. Supporting guidance may also be checked against UK and US government travel advice. Airline requirements are described separately when a public carrier source is available.

We separate the legal entry rule from the practical airline rule whenever they differ. That matters because a legal entry rule and a carrier's document policy are not necessarily the same. Pages are updated when a published rule changes or when a reader supplies a correction supported by an official source.

Corrections and updates

If a reader spots a mistake, we ask for the page URL and an official source. Verified corrections are made quickly and the page's updated date is changed where the correction affects travel advice. We would rather publish a narrower answer with a clear source than overstate a rule we cannot verify.

How we make money

We don't charge readers for the checker or guides. The site is currently focused on content quality and AdSense approval. Once advertising is enabled, costs may be covered by:

• Display advertising via Google AdSense.
• A small commission on a handful of travel-related affiliate links (visa services, travel insurance, flight search). We only link to services we'd happily use ourselves, and the commission never changes what we recommend.
