Morocco: six months for the plane and the ferry
Morocco requires six months of passport validity from your date of entry, and it applies the rule at every port — Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier airports, the Algeciras- Tangier Med ferry, and the land crossings at Ceuta and Melilla. Ferry passengers are checked twice, once at Spanish exit and again at Moroccan entry, and both checks run against the same validity rule.
UK, US, EU, Australian and NZ passport holders enter visa-free for 90 days. Officers at Marrakech and Casablanca sometimes ask for proof of accommodation for the first night — a hotel confirmation on your phone is enough. If you're planning to stay with a Moroccan host, a printed invitation letter avoids awkward questions.
Passport stamps for Morocco include your entry point on the stamp. This matters if you plan to leave via a different city or the ferry — mismatched entry/exit points don't cause refusal but do occasionally trigger extra questioning on departure. Give yourself an extra 30 minutes at the airport on the way home.
